Ligota Turawska

Ellguth Turawskie (Polish: Ligota Turawska ) is a town in Upper Silesia. Ellguth Turawskie located in the municipality Turawskie in Opolski powiat (district of Opole ) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Ellguth Turawskie located 10 kilometers north-east from the parish seat Turawskie and 24 kilometers northeast of the county town of Opole and voivodship.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1463. 1629 shot wooden church was built. In 1865 the town had 17 farms and 11 gardeners and 46 smallholdings. In 1936 the new church was consecrated.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 316 voters voted to remain in Germany and 307 for Poland. Ellguth - Turawskie remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 1014 inhabitants in the town. In 1939 the place 1055 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Opole.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Ligota Turawska and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to re-founded powiat Opolski. On 8 March 2012, the City also received the official German place names Ellguth Turawskie.
