Lima Province

The Lima Province is a region -free region on the Pacific coast of Peru.

The area, also known as Lima Metropolitana, is identical to the Peruvian capital, is any of the 25 regions of the country. It is bordered to the north by the province of Huaral, on the east by the provinces of Canta and Huarochirí, to the south by the province of Cañete and to the west by the Pacific Ocean.

The province is divided into 43 districts ( distritos ). Of this amount, 30 to the town proper, the geographic city. 13 districts of Lima lie outside the city proper in the suburbs and rural areas. These are: Ancon, Carabayllo, Chaclacayo, Cieneguilla Lurigancho (also Chosica ), Lurín, Pachacamac, Pucusana, Punta Hermosa, Punta Negra, San Bartolo, Santa María del Mar and Santa Rosa.
