Limahl

Limahl ( born December 19, 1958 in Wigan, Lancashire, United Kingdom; Christopher Hamill actually ) is a British pop singer.

Career

1980

Chris Hamill began his musical career in 1980 when he, the single It's Christmas published under his real name.

However, the breakthrough came as the singer of the band Kajagoogoo. The four other band members looked over a display in various music magazines front a man who would sing and look good. Hamill changed his name to Limahl, an anagram of his surname, and reported to the display.

Kajagoogoos debut single Too Shy stormed shortly after the release in early 1983 at number one on the British charts and sold over four million copies worldwide. After two more hits ( Ooh To Be Ah and Hang On Now) Limahl left after the band -band differences in 1983 and launched a solo career.

With the singles Only For Love and Too Much Trouble He scored notable successes. The biggest hit of his career, but he landed in collaboration with Giorgio Moroder 1984 The Never Ending Story, the title song for the U.S. version of the film The Neverending Story. Moroder produced another Limahl album, entitled Colour All My Days and the minor hit from 1986: Love In Your Eyes.

The Single Inside Outside to 1986 is a cover version of the title of the German group Lake from the album So What! from the same year.

1990

The early 90s he tried '92 to build on the success of earlier days with Too Shy. The accompanying album Love Is Blind but this was not granted. While Do not Suppose a Top Ten album with space 6 in the German charts and was Colour All My Days after all managed to leap to number 45, Love Is Blind was not convincing and did not appeared in the top 100. One to two bonus tracks extended version of the album was released for the Japanese market.

From 2000

In 2000-2001, he played a main role in the musical What A Feeling. In 2004 he participated in the German show comeback - The big opportunity part, in which he finished fourth.

In early 2008, 25 years after the departure of Kajagoogoo, Limahl to his old band joined again.

End of 2009, the two albums Do not Suppose and Colour All My Days have been released as a digital download with bonus remixes and 12 "versions.

In December 2012, he took as a candidate of the British reality show I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! in part, the model for the German mission I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here! and attended by 12 candidates the 10th Place.

  • In the first edition of Limahl's debut album Do not Suppose his later worldwide hit The Never Ending Story was not there. On side A of the LP, track 5 is The Greenhouse Effect. Only later version of Do not Suppose - Longplays with altered tracklisting became the mega -sellers and the replaced The Greenhouse Effect was pressed on the single Tar Beach on the B-side.
  • In November 2012, Limahl took on the UK edition of the show I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! in part. He finished 10th place out of 12 participants.
