Limón F.C.

Limón FC is a football club from Puerto Limón, Limón Province, Costa Rica, which Costa Rican in the highest league, the Primera División de Costa Rica plays.

History

Asociación Deportiva the Limonense ( ASODELI ) be founded on July 10, 1961.

1963 occupied the second place in the Limón Liga de Ascenso Segunda División, and thus rose to the Primera División de Costa Rica.

AD Limonense played 1964-1969, 1972-1995 and 1998-2002 in the highest Costa Rican league.

Until the early 90s AD Limonense changed its name several times, referred to itself as the club among other Northern Limón, Limón Limón Japdeva and Sprite.

2009 bought the Costa Rican - American businessman Carlos Pascal for around $ 100,000 the economically ailing club and named it into Limón FC. Already in the first season of promotion to the first division, where the club plays since then.

Stadium

Limón FC plays its home games usually in the 3000 -seat Estadio Juan Goban of which is located in the city center of Puerto Limón. If a large number of spectators are expected Limón FC carries out its home games at the Estadio Nuevo de Limón, which is located outside the city and about 5000 spectators sums.
