Lion-Feuchtwanger-Preis

The Lion Feuchtwanger Prize is a literary prize for historical prose. He was awarded annually from 1971 to 1992. Since 1998, he is usually given every two to three years on the occasion of the birthday of Lion Feuchtwanger on July 7. The award is endowed with € 7,500 and is awarded by a jury of three.

The prize was donated by Feuchtwanger's widow Marta Feuchtwanger and was awarded to the German reunification of the Academy of Arts of the German Democratic Republic, then of the United Academy of Arts in Berlin. From 1993 to 1997, the prize was not awarded.
