  • Suda, 10th century, 30,000 entries
  • The Megale bright nike enkyklopaideaia appeared 1927-1934, only a few years after establishment of the Republic (1924 ), in Athens with a circumference of 24 volumes. This is the first major encyclopedia of modern times in the Greek language.
  • Neoteron Enkyklopaedikon lexicon Heliou appeared between 1945 and 1960 in 18 volumes in Athens. The work is written in a simplified Katharevoussa, but partially antikisierend.

Lithuanian ( Lietuvių )

  • The Lietuviska enciklopedija appeared 1931-1944 in Kaunas with a circumference of nine volumes; it involves the first Lithuanian Encyclopedia.
  • In the period of the Soviet Union, the Lithuanian Soviet Encyclopedia ( Lietuviškoji tarybinė enciklopedija, LTE) was given out.
  • Today, the Institute for Science and encyclopedias sets ( MELI publisher) continues this work and plans the Lithuanian Encyclopedia ( Visuotinė lietuvių enciklopedija, VLE ) surrendered 20 volumes by 2009.
