List of international vehicle registration codes

The list of international distinguishing sign lists the prescribed international distinguishing sign for motor vehicles in all countries.

General

International distinguishing sign used to assign to their country of registration of motor vehicles and shall be fitted with a trip abroad outside the EU at the rear left. They say nothing about the nationality of the vehicle owner. In the European Union, in Switzerland and in Liechtenstein vehicles require no distinguishing signs, when a so-called euro mark is attached with a blue border and an integrated Nationality characters.

Not every state has its own international distinguishing sign. So the Republic of China is (Taiwan) and the People's Republic of China only in 1932 the then undivided Chinese Republic allocated distinguishing signs RC available, as was the case for the Federal Republic of Germany and German Democratic Republic with the registration D before 1974, the license plate GDR was created.
