The navigation stars are particularly bright, used in the navigation stars.
Description
The most common list of navigation stars has been published since 1802 in the American Practical Navigator navigation manual by Nathaniel Bowditch. In addition, navigation stars are listed in most nautical almanacs and astronomical yearbooks.
The stars are numbered according to convention from west to east, that is, with decreasing star angle. The number of navigation star varies in the different manuals between about 50 and 200
