List of universities in New Zealand

At the universities in New Zealand study a total of about 170,000 people. As the oldest university of the country applies the University of Otago in Dunedin, which was founded in 1869. The recent University is founded in 2000, Auckland University of Technology, where the origins as a technical school dating back to the 1895. At the smallest university in New Zealand, Lincoln University only 4,100 students are enrolled at the biggest, Massey University study of 42,000 (as of each 2003).
