Liu Chao-shiuan

Liu Chao- shiuan (刘兆玄Chinese, Pinyin Liú Zhàoxuán; born May 10, 1943 in Liuyang, Hunan ) is a politician of the Kuomintang and was OF MAY 20 May 2008 to September 10, 2009 Prime Minister of the Republic of China on Taiwan.

Life

Liu graduated from the National Taiwan University in 1971 and received his PhD in chemistry at the University of Toronto. Upon his return to Taiwan, Liu worked at the Tsing - Hua University and National struck in 1979 with a change in the science committee of the government a political career one.

After the victory of the Kuomintang in elections to the Legislative Yuan and the 2008 presidential election, he became Prime Minister of the Republic of China in 2008 at the suggestion of new President Ma Ying- jeou on May 20. On 10 September 2009, he resigned with his entire Cabinet. Successor as Prime Minister was the Secretary General of the Kuomintang, Wu Den -yih.
