Lloyd (singer)

Lloyd ( born January 3, 1986 in New Orleans, Louisiana; Lloyd Harlin Polite Jr. full name ) is an American R & B singer.

Biography

Lloyd Polite lost with two years his father and therefore grew up in Atlanta with her mother and sister. Already at the age of ten he was discovered for a band called N- Toon, with which he released two singles and 2000 album Toon Time. But shortly after the band broke up and Lloyd was looking for his success as a solo singer.

After it did not work at MJM, he got a contract with MCA and the first single Hey Young Girl was already planned. But he had bad luck again, the label was disbanded before publishing and he had to find a new label again. On the recommendation of LA Reid, he was finally taken by Murder Inc. under contract and only once took the single Southside with Ashanti on. It was an immediate success, and came into the official U.S. charts at number 24, the following self-titled debut album made it into the Billboard Hot 200 even in eleventh place.

In the following years, Lloyd has worked with many other famous artists such as Ja Rule and Young Jeezy, very successful was his single You with Lil Wayne, which became a Top 10 hit in the U.S. and made it into the UK charts. The second album Street Love was released in 2007 and debuted at number two on the album charts. It reached gold status.

By the third album Lessons in Love, it took this time only a little over a year. But neither the singles with Ludacris and Lil Wayne nor the album itself were able to maintain the success of its predecessor, though once again the top 10 of the album charts were achieved. Because some songs were produced, which were then not selected for the album, a mixtape, Lloyd called " Lessons in Love 2.0" decided to offer his MySpace page as a free download. One of the songs titled " A Day in the Life " was produced by Irv Gotti. Lloyd said that this title would not fit the mood of the record, which is why he became a bonus song on the mixtape. Irv Gotti saw this decision as Diss, Lloyd, however, described this reaction in an interview to be unnecessary.

2009 Lloyd left the label The Inc ' and founded Young Goldie Music. The reason for this decision he called that too little support from the label had come. Also it ` was not possible for him under The Inc, to develop freely what he strive for now. According to its own figures, there were between Lloyd and Irv Gotti on the corporate level too many disagreements. In an interview, Lloyd said that he would learn from the mistakes of the label bosses of The Inc ' and will treat its own artists better.

After the label change Lloyd took their own initiative songs for another album. One of these songs titled Pusha (featuring Juelz Santana ), which was produced by the Runners, Lloyd applied for in August 2009 on Twitter.
