Logie Awards

The TV Week Logie Awards, mostly for short Logies, are prices, which is awarded annually in the autumn in the southern hemisphere from the Australian television magazine TV Week on Australian programs and personalities. They were launched in 1959 as Star of the Year in life, but was renamed in honor of the Scottish television pioneer John Logie Baird in 1960. Since 1961, the ceremony will be broadcast on television.

At the prestigious Gold Logie is the. 1984 Gold Logie Hall of Fame was introduced, which honors the lifetime achievements of television personalities.

There are numerous categories to be considered, such as most popular actor and actress, presenters, TV series, sports programs, etc.

Most prizes will be awarded by the readers of TV Week. The vote takes place via coupons in the magazine and for several years via the Internet and text messaging - which mainly appeals to a young audience. Prices of "outstanding " ( outstanding ) personalities and programs and the induction into the Hall of Fame but are granted by specialized experts.

The Gold Logies were established in 1960 " most popular personality of the Australian television" to the. In the years 1967, 1970, 1971, 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1977, there were separate rates for male and female personalities. The prize is awarded by a vote among the readers of TV Week.
