Lolong

Lolong († February 10, 2013 ) was a Philippine saltwater crocodile. With a length of 6.17 and a weight of 1,075 kilograms, it is considered the biggest crocodile of its kind, which was officially confirmed by the Guinness Book of World Records. Lolong was about 50 years old.

The name Lolong it received from his catcher Ernesto " Lolong " Goloran Cañete, who had discovered it in September 2011 in a creek in Bunawan in Agusan del Sur province, beginning with crocodile hunters and residents. It has since been held in Barangay Consuelo in Bunawan Ecopark and Wildlife Reservation Center. On February 10, 2013 Lolong was found dead in his enclosure.
