London Bridge station

London Bridge is one of the main railway stations of London. It is located in the district of Southwark, on the south end of London Bridge. The train station in Travelcard Zone 1 consists of three parts: a through station, a terminus station and an underground station of the London Underground. History

Railway

London Bridge is the oldest station in London. The first head station was opened on 14 December in 1836 by the London and Greenwich Railway, which later became South Eastern Railway (SER ). Immediately next door built the London and Croydon Railway, later the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway (LB & SCR), a private concourse, which was put into operation on 15 June 1839.

In 1844, we removed the partition wall between the two buildings and six years later, the entire plant was demolished and replaced by a common building, which was opened on January 3, 1851. Barely completed, the system proved to be too small. For this reason, crack 1853 LB & SCR station Part off rebuilt it new and expanded it in 1866 again; this is the still existing railhead.

Subway

The metro station was opened on February 25, 1900 by the City and South London Railway (predecessor company of the Northern Line ), as part of the new line between Peterborough and Moorgate.
