Loria, Veneto

Loria is a Northeast Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9173 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Treviso in Veneto. The municipality is situated approximately 30 km west-northwest of Treviso, about 32 kilometers northeast of Vicenza and about 36 kilometers north of Padua. Loria borders the provinces of Padua and Vicenza.

History

The name of the village derives from the Via Aurelia 972 the church was mentioned as Aurilia. In 1175 as Lorgna and 1221 as Lorlea.

Community partnerships

Loria has partnerships with the Uruguayan city of Pando in the department of Canelones, with the French community Bressols in the département of Tarn- et- Garonne ( since September 2006) and with the Canadian city of Guelph in Ontario.
