Louis III de Châtillon

Louis III. de Châtillon († July 15, 1391 ) was Count of Dunois and Lord of Romorantin. He was the son of Guy II de Châtillon, Count of Blois, and Mary of Namur.

He married on March 29, 1386 in Bourges Maria ( * probably in 1367, † June 1434 in Lyon), since 1370 Duchess of Auvergne, daughter of Jean de Valois, duc de Berry.

He was the only son and heir of the county of Blois. He died before his father and was also childless, so the house Châtillon was not continued in this line. After the death of his father in 1397 bought Duke Louis de Valois, duc d' Orléans, the heirs Guys II the counties of Blois and Dunois for 200,000 crowns from French.

His widow married half a year after his death, on 27 January 1392 Philippe d' Artois, Count of Eu, who was appointed Constable of France in the same year.
