Luigi Zampa

Luigi Zampa ( born January 2, 1905 in Rome, † August 16, 1991 ) was an important film director of neo-realism, which nevertheless was less in Germany known as the great representative of Luchino Visconti, Roberto Rossellini and Vittorio De Sica.

Biography

Luigi Zampa worked in the Italian film industry back in the 1930s. Since 1932 he was in Rome at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. In the late 1930s he worked primarily as a scriptwriter.

Already his film Angelina deputies in 1947 was nominated for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
