Lurrie Bell

Lurrie Bell ( born December 13, 1958 Chicago, Illinois) is an American blues guitarist and blues singer. He is the son of legendary harmonica virtuoso Carey Bell.

Life

At the age of six he began playing guitar and received advice from blues greats like Eddy Clearwater, Big Walter Horton and Eddie Taylor, who made ​​and received from his father valuable.

Mid -1970s, he was a guitarist in Koko Taylor's band, where he remained four years. He made his debut albums on Heartaches and Pain of his father. About the same time he founded The Sons of Blues with Billy Branch on harmonica. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he was considered a rising star, but prevented him from personal problems at the break.

1995 began his comeback with Mercurial Son Since then he reappears regularly in the Blue Chicago clubs. In 2007 he received the Living Blues Award for best guitarist., 2008 as the best blues artist and best guitarist. In 2009 he was part of the " Chicago Blues A Living History " together with Billy Branch, Billy Boy Arnold and John Primer.
