Lysá pod Makytou

Lysa pod Makytou ( to 1927 only " Lysa "; Hungarian Fehérhalom - to 1902 Lissza or older Lisza ) is a municipality in the north-western Slovakia. It lies in the valley of the river Biela voda below the Lissa pass between the White Carpathians and the Javorník Mountains, about 15 km from Púchov in Slovakia and 32 km from Czech Vsetín.

The first written mention was made in 1471 as Lyzsa. The municipality also includes parts of municipalities Dešná and Strelenka.

In the hamlet of Strelenka there is a road and railway border crossing with the Czech Republic (municipality Střelná ).
