Maaskantje

Maaskantje is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It belongs to the municipality of Sint- Michielsgestel, south-east of 's- Hertogenbosch and about 50 km west of the German cities Goch and Kleve. The village has about 1600 inhabitants Maaskantje ² on an area of 0.97 km. Maaskantje and the neighboring village of Den Dungen, have grown together to form a continuous built-up area.

Trivia

Maaskantje became internationally known by the Dutch comedy series New Kids and the movies New Kids Turbo and New Kids Nitro. The series is broadcast in several countries by the TV channel Comedy Central. The main characters of the series posing in every skit in front of the town sign of Maaskantje. Some of the skits was also filmed in the city, most of the neighboring village of Den Dungen. In the village the music video was about Friends Turbo Euro Dance Band rotated scooter.

Due to the notoriety through the films and skits, the town was a popular destination for fans of the New Kids. Since the sign of Maaskantje was a very coveted trophy for the fans, this was accordingly often removed and stolen.
