Mad TV (video game)

Mad TV is a business simulation developed and published by Rainbow Arts Software GmbH in 1991. The game was ported to MS- DOS and Amiga, and was well received by the trade press. A version for the Atari ST was in labor, but was rejected - but you can still find references in the manual on this.

The Story

The player assumes the role of a program director and is responsible to lead a television station to success.

In addition, fought for the recognition of the pretty Betty Botter Bloom, which has an office on the 13th floor of the house. Betty is demanding and preferably provides cultural programs, however, have low ratings and thus generate little advertising revenue.

Successor

Published in 1994 Ikarion with a Mad News developed by Mad TV - inventor Ralph Stock unofficial successor. In the intro, the rest of the story the main character is told and explains why he is now working in the newspaper business.

1996 delivered Greenwood Entertainment Mad TV 2 the only official successor. 2001, both MADtv and Mad TV 2 were released as freeware.

At gamescom, Kalypso Media announced with MUD TV the unofficial successor to Mad TV. The game was published in February 2010.

Remakes

Since there is no successor since then, but the fan base is still large, numerous fan - remakes of Mad TV have created. The development is generally rather slow.
