The Maddog Munich were an ice hockey team from Munich, the founding member of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL ) was.
The team arose from the attempt, the first team of the EC Hedos Munich from the debt-ridden club, among other things, had accumulated through expensive purchases and player salaries debts in the millions, and should outsource practically as "Successor " team of the reigning German champions in ice hockey in 1994 EC Hedos Munich to participate in the form of a limited liability company at the start of the first season of the German Ice Hockey League.

Since the removal from the club was not legally carried out correctly, the original club EC Hedos Munich went eV with about 15 million mark in early 1995 debt in bankruptcy.
