1994–95 DEL season
The 1994/95 season of the German Ice Hockey League was the first season after the dissolution of the 1st Bundesliga. The premiere season of the new German Elite Series were 18 qualified teams against each other.
German masters were the Cologne Sharks after last year's winner EC Hedos Munich after renaming in Munich Maddog already had to admit in the first DEL season insolvency.

Mode and rules
The season started with 18 teams should play each against the other with back and leg in a preliminary round 34 games. In addition, after the model of the NHL three regional groups were formed, in which an additional single round was played with 10 games. An ascent and descent control, it no longer existed. Admission to the DEL was decided after sports and especially economic criteria on green table. In a subsequent play -off round, the 16 best teams in the Main Round competed against each other.

Preliminary round
