1972–73 DDR-Oberliga (ice hockey) season
To the East German Ice Hockey Championship 1972/73 played again the two Dynamo clubs from white water and Berlin in the big leagues. Champion was once again the team from White Water, the so celebrated their 20th overall title.
The GDR best determination was again played in the form of a simple round of the tournament, because less than six teams had reported. This time, the first time the BSG Motor Optima Erfurt secured the title.
