Maebashi, Gunma
Maebashi (Japanese前 桥 市, - shi) is the administrative center of Gunma Prefecture in the interior of Honshu, the main island of Japan. Maebashi is located approximately 100 km north of Tokyo.
Economically, Maebashi center of the silk industry. A religious attraction are the two Buddhist temples.
Historical
The city was founded on April 1, 1892. During World War II Maebashi was destroyed three-quarters. Took place in 1999, the IAAF World Indoor Athletics Championships here.
Sports
Maebashi is the home of the football club Thespakusatsu Gunma.
