Magomedsalam Magomedov

Magomedsalam Magomedalijewitsch Magomedov ( born June 1, 1964 in Lewaschi, Dagestan ASSR, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union ) is a Russian politician. From 2010 to 2013 he was president of the North Caucasus Republic of Dagestan (Russian Federation).

Biography

Magomedsalam Magomedov studied from 1981 to 1986 at the Faculty of Economics of the State University of Dagestan in Makhachkala. From 1986 to 1990 he was the aspirant to the Plekhanov Academy of Economics in Moscow. Magomedov 1991, he returned as a lecturer at the University of Dagestan back and was most recently the chair of economics and sociology of work. Since 1998 he was a ( full-time from 2001) served as a consultant or employee of the Dagestani government. So he led a working group for the development of off-shore Dagestan shelf in the Caspian Sea. Magomedov was elected several times to the Parliament of the Republic of Dagestan. From February 2006 until April 2007 he was President of the Parliament.

In February 2010 Magomedsalam Magomedov was proposed by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev for the post of President of Dagestan. In the same month he was elected Parliament as the new head of Dagestan. In January 2013 he was relieved of his post and transferred to Moscow, where he takes over the post of deputy head of the presidential administration. To his successor as Acting President of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov was appointed.

Magomedov also worked as a soccer player and functionary. In 1990 he graduated as a goalkeeper for three games Dynamo Makhachkala. From 2001 to 2002 he was vice-president of Anzhi Makhachkala.

Magomedsalam Magomedov is the son of former President of Dagestan Magomedali Magomedov. He belongs to the ethnic group darginischen.
