Magomedali Magomedov

Magomedali Magomedowitsch Magomedov (Russian Магомедали Магомедович Магомедов; born June 15, 1930 in Lewaschi, Dagestan ASSR, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union ) is a Russian politician. From 1987 to 2006 he held the highest office in the Dagestan ASSR and the Republic of Dagestan.

Life

Magomedali Magomedov graduated in 1950, the Dagestan teacher high school and was then working as a teacher. Since 1957, Magomedov worked in agriculture. In 1968 he completed his studies at the remote Dagestan Agricultural University. Since 1970 he has made ​​his career in the Communist Party. First, he was the first secretary of the District Party Committee in Lewaschi, 1975, he was then transferred to Makhachkala, where he took up the post of Head of the Department of Agriculture in the Party Committee of the Republic. In 1979 his work began in the Government of the Autonomous Republic. From 1979 to 1983 he was Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers, 1983-1987 Chairman. In August 1987 he moved to the legislature and was elected Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Dagestan ASSR. After the abolition of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet in 1990, Magomedov was chairman of the Supreme Soviet and after 1994 the State Council of the Republic of Dagestan. Served in this office Magomedov until February 2006, when introduced as president in Dagestan and he was replaced by Muchu Aliyev.

Magomedov is married and has six children. From 2010 to 2013 his son Magomedsalam was president of Dagestan.
