Mai Ito

May Itō (Japanese伊藤 舞, Itō of May; born 23 May 1984) is a Japanese marathon runner.

In 2005, she finished sixth at Matsue half marathon, and in 2006 she won the Kyoto Half Marathon. In 2008, she finished sixth in the championship Japanese firms in the half marathon, when she was on Twelfth year. This was followed by a fourth place at the Sendai Half Marathon and winning the half marathon competition of the Shanghai Marathon.

In 2010 she was at her debut on the 42,195 -km distance at the Fourth Nagoya Marathon. The following year, she qualified as second in the Osaka Women's Marathon for the World Athletics Championships 2011 in Daegu, where she arrived on the 22th Place. At the end of the year, she finished fourth in the San'yo road race.

In 2012 she was fifth at each Kagawa Marugame Half Marathon and the Nagoya Marathon. In the summer they won the Sapporo Half Marathon and the Shibetsu Half Marathon. In the World Half Marathon Championships in Kavarna they finished ninth and won the team bronze, the Yokohama Marathon, she was fifth.

2013, it was second in the Berlin Half Marathon and seventh London Marathon. In the summer she defended her title in Shibetsu and was third at the Hokkaido Marathon.

May Itō is a graduate of Kyoto Sangyo University and competes for the company team of the pharmaceutical company Ōtsuka Seiyaku.
