Maksym Berezovsky

Maxym Sosontowytsch Beresowskyj (Ukrainian Максим Созонтович Березовський; * 16.jul / October 27 1745greg in Hluchiw, .. .. † 22 Märzjul / April 2 1777greg in Saint Petersburg ) was a Ukrainian composer.

Berezovsky studied in Kiev and was from 1765 to 1773 students of Padre Martini in Bologna. With his works, which stylistically already anticipated the Russian romance, he had in St. Petersburg no success, so that he received no position. In 1777 he took his own life.

Berezovsky has composed an opera (Demo Fonte after Metastasio, 1773), choral compositions, which were later greatly appreciated, as well as instrumental works, amongst which are a concerto for four instruments and harpsichord is to call in G Minor.
