Malovice (Prachatice District)

Malovice ( German Großmalowitz ) is a municipality with 640 inhabitants in the Czech Republic. It is 5 km northeast of the city and belongs to the Netolice Okres Prachatice to. By Malovice, which at a height of 411 m above sea level is located, the railway branch line runs from Zliv to Netolice.

The first mentioned in 1315 in the village pond landscape north-west of České Budějovice is characterized by numerous primitive farmsteads in the style of the South Bohemian folk Baroque. In Rabin was in the 19th century, an agricultural school.

Malovice should be formerly the site of a nuclear power plant. Due to better connectivity of the Temelín site was later preferred, although for the location Malovice already the contracts were signed with the Soviet Union.
