Wood glut

On the Maltsch it was probably the oldest wooden glut of Mühlviertel, the oldest written documentation dates back to 1685. The wood was swept from the open forest towards Leopoldschlag and Unterhaid and transported from there to the north. From the 1830s, this was done with the help of the horse railway. The wood came primarily from the areas around the places Windhaag, Leopoldschlag and Zettwing who received the privilege for the first flood of the year alternately. Whether the flood was in regular service is unsecured because the Holztrift due to lack of Stranded oak, low gradient and low -flow conditions was very difficult. The glut is likely to have a longer time often located broke. Therefore, it is assumed that 1842, the last such flood occurred.
