The Auburn angle spider ( Malthonica ferruginea, synonym: Tegenaria ferruginea ), also known as " house spider ", is a species of the genus, the angle spinning.

Features

The females are 11 to 14, males 9 to 11 millimeters in size. Both have a reddish base color and on the abdomen a distinct, rust red markings, which expires in pips. In the front part of the abdomen on either side are large, light brown spots. The sternum ( Brustmal ) is constricted twice in the front area and has a brighter center stripe, flanked by four brighter spots. The legs of the angle Auburn spider are curled bristles and clear black and light brown. Because of the similar basic color confusion with the wall angle spider is possible.

Way of life

The Auburn angle spider lives mainly near the ground, in forests and in buildings. After Platnick is their distribution area Europe and the Azores. In Central Europe it has been proven everywhere, but it is by Hänggi et al. only sporadically encountered.
