Manolo Cadenas

Manolo Cadenas Montanes ( born May 20, 1955 in Valdevimbre / Spain ) is a Spanish handball coach.

Stations and successes

Cadenas began his coaching career in Leganés, where he worked with youth players. After eleven years in Leganés, he managed in Naranco his first professional team ( 1986-1989 ). His first title as a coach, the Copa ASOBAL and the Cup Winners' Cup, Cadenas won with Teka Cantabria Santander (1989 to 1991). He then moved to team BM Valladolid, which he oversaw from 1991 to 1995. Then Cadenas trained for twelve years Ademar León, with whom he won one Spanish champion (2001), once the Copa del Rey (2002), once the Copa ASOBAL (1999 ) and twice the European Cup Winners' Cup (1999 and 2005).

From 2007 to 2009 Cadenas was coach of FC Barcelona. With this team he won the 2008 Spanish Super Cup ( Supercopa de España de Balonmano ). From 2009 he trained BM Granollers. In 2013 he signed a contract with the Polish first division club Wisła Płock.
