Coat is a market in the Upper Palatinate district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab, about ten kilometers west of pastures.

Coat is off state road 2166 from Weiden to Freihung, the county road NEW 21 and at the Haidenaab.

History

Although the exact origin of the place is unknown. The first written mention unique jacket comes from 26 September 1212. About the origin of the name, there are two different theories. According to a popular legend, the name is due to the same piece of clothing. Incorporations

In 1945 or 1946, until then independent municipality Rupprecht Reuth is incorporated. On July 1, 1972 Parts are added to the dissolved municipality huts.

Policy

The market town coat has 16 Market Councils, which provide for the municipal election on March 2, 2008, the CSU eight, the SPD and the five FWG three. Mayor was initially Josef Wittmann CSU. Because of the application of the First Mayor to release for health reasons led the deputy mayor Stephan Oetzinger until further official business.

In the mayoral election 20 May 2012 Stephan Oetzinger CSU was elected with 73.8 % of the votes in the first ballot the youngest mayor in the district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab. He took office on 23 May 2012.

Culture and sights

Built in 1614 from a Protestant parish church was from 1663 until the consecration of the Catholic Parish Church interdenominational church. In 1908 she received an extension and an onion dome.
