Maria of Austria, Duchess of Jülich-Cleves-Berg

Maria of Austria ( born May 15, 1531 Prague, † December 11, 1581 in Hambach Castle ) from the House of Habsburg, was an Archduchess of Austria and by marriage Duchess of Jülich, Cleves and Berg.

Life

Mary was a daughter of the later Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand I (1503-1564) from his marriage to Anna Jagiello (1503-1547), daughter of King Vladislav II of Bohemia and Hungary.

They married on July 18, 1546 in Regensburg Duke Wilhelm V of Jülich- Kleve -Berg, called the Rich ( 1516-1592 ).
