Marian Pană

Marian Pană ( born December 24, 1968 in Moreni ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach. He played a total of 217 games in the Romanian Divizia A and the Israeli Ligat ha Al. Since September 2013 he has been head coach of Metalul Resita in the League II

Career as a player

The career of Pană started at Flacara Moreni in his hometown. There he moved up in the 1985/86 season in the first team squad, which at the time played in Divizia B and rose finish the season in the top flight. He was born on November 16, 1986 on his debut. At the end of the season he made with his club in the league, before a year later finished sixth with Flacara. During the winter break 1988/89 he left the club and joined AS Victoria Bucharest in the capital. With his new club, he qualified for the UEFA Cup, where already in the first round came to him from the against Valencia.

After the Romanian Revolution Victoria was disbanded during the winter break 1989/90 of the new political leadership so that Pană returned to Moreni. At the end of the season he went down with his crew from the Divizia A. He then moved to FC Arges Pitesti. In the 1990/91 season he was able to achieve nine goals for his new club. Thus, the top club Dinamo Bucharest became aware of him and signed him in the summer of 1991. With Dinamo he won the championship in 1992 the single title of his career.

After Pană was hardly used in the first round in 1994/95 for use, he returned to the winter break after Piteşti. A year later he left the club and moved to Hapoel Haifa in the Israeli Ligat ha Al. There he could not prevail, and returned half a year later in the summer of 1996 to return to Romania, where he hired at his former club Dinamo Bucharest. He came only four appearances in the 1996/97 season, he joined during the winter break the league rivals Chindia Targoviste on. After relegation he hired at Rocar Bucharest in Divizia B, before half a year later moved to the league rivals FC Braşov. The end of the season relegated missed the intended revival.

In the first round in 1998/99 he was no longer considered so that he returned to the winter break after Targoviste, was now relegated to the B Divizia. There he was able to fight for a starting berth and finished the season off with his team in the lower middle. After a year he left the club and moved to the beginning of 2000 to league rivals Juventus Cole Tina Bucharest, where he ended his career in the summer of 2000.

National

Pană played two games for the Romanian national team, took him as a coach Mircea Rădulescu in December 1991 on a country tour to Egypt. He came in two games against the hosts used.

Career as a coach

After the end of his active career Pană worked as a football coach. In 2002 he took over CS Otopeni in Divizia C as head coach. With Otopeni he rose to the Divizia B in 2004. After he had previously missed with the ambitious club the climb, he was released in March 2007 and replaced by Costel Orac.

In September 2009 Pană was the successor of Sandu Tăbîrcă head coach of Gloria Bistrita within the League 1 Even in the winter break, he had Marius Şumudică soft. He took over the second division Dacia Mioveni, with whom he missed the target rise in early 2010. Then he moved to first division club Universitatea Cluj, where he worked with the start of the 2010/11 season as head coach. In early November 2010, he left the club again. At the beginning of 2011, he took over the second division Unirea Alba Iulia, whom he left to relegation-threatened first division club Unirea Urziceni after a few weeks. After the descent of the second division Farul Constanta signed him in the summer of 2011, he left on December 1, 2011 to take over the first division CS Mioveni. With his new club, he was relegated at the end of the 2011/12 season.

Pană initially found no new club. Beginning of 2013 obliged him FC Bihor Oradea second division as the successor of Claudiu Niculescu. The club missed the promotion to the top flight and parted ways again. He hired at FC Costuleni in the Moldovan Divizia Naţională, but had to go back after three games. In September 2013 Zweitligist Metalul Resita took him as successor by Alexandru Pelici under contract.
