Mario Gaspar Pérez

Mario Gaspar Pérez Martínez (born 24 November 1990 Novelda ) or short Mario is a Spanish footballer who is currently in La Liga is active for Villarreal. His former position is the right side of defense.

Career

Club career

Mario played in his youth for his current home club Villarreal. From the season 2007 /08 he ran for the second team of the club. From the 2008/ 09 season he also stood in the extended squad for the first team, for which he came in a 3-2 defeat against Atlético Madrid on 15 March 2009 to his debut. It was important from the beginning of 2011, when he became a regular player and missed a minute in the last 19 games of the season, as the previous regulars Ángel López suffered a cruciate ligament injury. The positive trend was Mario in the following season partially confirm, he came up with 22 games in the league and four in the Champions League, where, however, he only conceded against well-known clubs like FC Bayern Munich or Napoli defeats. On 1 May 2012, he was also able to celebrate his first league goal against Sporting Gijon, but nothing could change the descent of his team from the first to the second division. In the current season Mario has only played eight games and his place in the meantime lost the already 37 -year-old Javi Venta.
