Mario Ghella

Mario Ghella ( born June 23, 1929 in Chieri ) is an Italian former racing driver who was a successful racing cyclist.

Ghella was 1945-1948 four consecutive Italian champion in track sprint. In 1948 he took part in the Summer Olympic Games in London. Ghella started in railway sprint and won the tournament, in the final he beat the British Reg Harris. Two weeks later Ghella world amateur champion in track sprint.

Ghella joined later on to the pros. In 1951, he was Italian champion in track sprint, 1957, he finished his career.
