Markus Katzer

Mark " shorcut " Katzer ( born December 11, 1979 in Vienna) is an Austrian football player and plays after his contract with SK Rapid Vienna in the summer of 2013 was not extended, since August 6, 2013 for FC Admira Wacker Mödling in defense.

Career

Markus Katzer played in his youth at ASK Erlaa and started his professional career in 2001 with VfB Admira Wacker Mödling. In the southern part of the defenders matured into a national player and was on 20 August 2003 in a 2-0 victory over Costa Rica his international debut. Since 2004 he plays for SK Rapid Wien. His greatest successes were in this case the two-time winning the Austrian Championship 2004 /05 and 2007/ 08 and the entry into the main round of the UEFA Champions League 2005/06.

Although Markus Katzer rarely came to train under Hickersberger he was still convened on 28 May 2008 in the Austrian squad for the 2008 European Championship. The team leader explained his decision by saying: ". I only took it because I wanted to show him that, although he had a lot of bad luck with injuries and diseases, is part of the national team," Katzer fell in 2007/ 08 due to a torn ACL and appendicitis from almost the entire season. The injury series went into the 2008/ 09 season continued, as the defender twice the outer band in the ankle tear, as well as twice the navicular bone in the hand broke. In March 2013 the SK Rapid announced not to renew the contract Katzer. It is therefore clear that he no longer plays Summer 2013 at SK Rapid Wien.

He was romantically involved with the daughter of Hans Krankl, the two have a daughter, Ella, who was born on August 31, 2008. March 22, 2012, he is married to Sue Reichard. Their son, Daniel, was born on 7 October 2012.

On 6 August it was announced that Katzer passes to his hometown club FC Admira Wacker Mödling.
