Richard Windbichler

Richard Windbichler ( born April 2, 1991, Lower Austria ) is an Austrian football player. Since 2008 he is at FC Admira Wacker Mödling under contract.

Club career

Windbichler began his career in the youth of his home club UPS Scheiblingkirchen - Warth, before he joined the academy of FC Admira Wacker Mödling 2005.

In May 2008 he made his debut in the 1-3 defeat against SV Würmla at the age of 17 years in the Regional League East for the second team of the Admiralty. In consequence he was about one and a half years starting players before he was ordered to the second half of the season 2009/10 by coach Walter Schachner in the A-team.

After his second league debut in a 0-0 draw at home to FC Wacker Innsbruck, he was able to establish itself immediately as a regular player and formed together with Christopher Dibon Innenverteidigerduo the youngest in the league. Overall, he was in this game year with the A- and B- team of Admira runner-up in their respective league.

With the release of coach Schachner and the appointment of Dietmar Kühbauer result season and an injury to the start of the season, he lost his place to Daniel Drescher, whereupon he again regularly in the B team ( from the season 2010/11 Admira Juniors) was used. Only after a series of defeats during the first round, he was able to fight again back to the root formation of the A- team with which he was able to celebrate the end of the season the champion in the First League and the associated promotion to the Bundesliga.

National

At the international level Windbichler debuted in 2008 in the Austrian U-17 national team, for whom he played a total of two games. From 2009 to 2010 as many followed for the U- 19, before he was brought from coach Andreas Herzog at the age of 19 years in the U-21 national team.

On 13 July 2011 he was nominated by coach Andreas Heraf than last possible players in the final squad of Austria for the U-20 World Cup 2011 in Colombia.
