Marmararegion
The Marmara Region ( Turkish Marmara ), with an area of 67,000 km of the seven geographical regions of Turkey ² the smallest but the most populous. The official name is " Marmara region " (Turkish Marmara Bölgesi ) and is derived from the Marmara Sea. It represents approximately 8.6 % of the Turkish national territory dar.
This region exists officially after the Geography Congress in 1941 in Ankara and is geographically divided again into four sub- regions or sub-regions.

Climate
Population
According to the people counting in 2000, the population is 17,365,027 and the population density of 259 inh / km ² (national vs. means: 88.25 inhab / km ² ).. . 79.1 % ( 13,730,962 ) of the population live in urban areas and 20.9 % ( 3,634,065 ) in the country. The annual population growth rate is 2.669 %.
