Martin Eisengrein

Martin Iron Grein (* December 28, 1535 in Stuttgart, † May 3, 1578 in Ingolstadt, also Isengrin Eisengrein or Martin Eysengrein ) was a German Catholic theologian and controversialist.

Life

Martin Iron Grein was born on December 28, 1535 in Stuttgart, the son of Lutheran parents. He studied at the universities of Tübingen, Ingolstadt and Vienna. At the latter he was appointed in 1555 as a Doctor of Philosophy and professor of language skills two years later professor of natural philosophy. In 1558, he moved from the Protestant to the Catholic Church and began to study theology. 1560 Iron Grein in Vienna preacher, in 1562 pastor at Ingolstadt, in 1564 professor of theology. In the same year he became provost of Moosburg and Altötting. Court Chaplain of Maximilian II was iron Grein in 1568. 1570 already he returned to the University of Ingolstadt, where he became superintendent or inspector. Iron Grein also was dean of Passau. In Vienna, he was a pastor, but the date of his work there can not be determined. On May 3, 1578 Martin iron Grein died in Ingolstadt.
