Mary Wayte

Mary Wayte ( born March 25, 1965 in Mercer Iceland ) is a former American swimmer.

At the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, she was about 200 m freestyle Olympic champion. Four years later she won the 100m freestyle relay in Seoul again the silver medal in the 4 × 100 m medley relay and the bronze medal with the 4 ×. In 2000, she was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.

After her career she was Sportkommentatorin at NBC and ESPN and reported, among other things, of the swimming events at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
