Mas-Blanc-des-Alpilles
Mas-Blanc -des- Alpilles is a commune with 505 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bouches -du -Rhône in the Provence- Alpes- Côte d' Azur.
Geography
With an area of only 157 acres of the Mas-Blanc -des- Alpilles area is the smallest municipality of the department. It is located in the northwest of the mountain chain of the Alpilles. The community is located between the six kilometers away, Saint- Rémy -de- Provence and Tarascon ten kilometers away. The nearest large town is Avignon, which is 25 kilometers to the north. The municipality is part of the Regional Natural Park of the Alpilles.
Economy and infrastructure
The village is connected by the D99 with the towns of Saint- Remy- de -Provence and Saint- Étienne- du- Grès. An important industry is tourism, which is due to the great location of the community.
History
The site in its current form has been established according to historical documents in 1792. Since the census of 1975, when the town had only 139 inhabitants, the population has almost quadrupled.
