Masoud Mostafa Jokar

Masoud Mostafa Jokar ( born September 21, 1977 in Malayer, Hamadan, Iran, Persian مسعود مصطفی جوکار ) is an Iranian wrestler. He won at the Olympics in Athens in 2004, a silver medal in the free style Featherweight

Career

Masoud Mostafa Jokar began as a teenager in 1988 in his native city with the rings. He joined thereto at the Ringer Club Takhti Malayer. His coaches were mainly Said Goudarzi and Esmail Dangesaraki. He is an employee of an oil company. During his career, the 1.64 meter tall athlete wrestled in four weight classes. He began bantamweight and rose over the years about the featherweight and lightweight to welterweight in the.

His international career began in 2000 with the participation in the Asian Cup in Guilin / China. In bantamweight he finished doing the 8th Place. One came later, he died in a World Cup tournament in Baltimore bantamweight behind Kerry Boumans, from the United States to 2nd place. In 2002 he competed at the Asian Games in Busan and came up at featherweight on the 6th Place. In 2004, he managed to qualify for participation in the Olympic Games in Athens. In Athens, he was in great shape and defeated there featherweight Sahit Prizreni from Albania, Besik Aslanaschwili from Greece and Kenji Inoue from Japan. In the final he lost to Yandro Quintana of Cuba. He thus won an Olympic silver medal.

In 2006 he took part in the World Championships in Guangzhou. In lightweight starting, he left there but after winning a fight by a defeat in his second fight against Leonid Spiridonov of Kazakhstan and finished only 12th place. Even with the taken place in Doha in December 2006 Asian Games he failed to win a medal in lightweight. He arrived there on the 7th Place.

In 2007 he took then at the Asian Championship in Bishkek welterweight behind Wu Zijian, China 2nd place. He occupied the same seat at the Asia Cup 2008 in Jeju-do/Südkorea. Here he was a welterweight behind Cho Byung- Kwan from South Korea. In 2008 he took part in the Olympic Games for the second time also. In Beijing he lost, however, already in the first Runge against Kiril Tersijew from Bulgaria. Since this did not reach the final, he was eliminated and so was only the 19th Place.
