Massamá is a municipality of the city of Queluz 1.83 km ² with 28 048 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011 ), this corresponds to a population density of 15,341 inhabitants / km ². A well-known landmark of the municipality is the fountain of Massamá (pt. Chafariz de Massamá ). The fountain is considered historical heritage and gave the place the name Massamá coming from Geonym " Mactamã " and which translates as "place of good water " or " source " means.

Since July 26, 1997 Queluz was divided into three Freguesias and formed into a town Queluz with communities Massamá, Monte Abraão and Queluz.
