Mate Ghwinianidse (Georgian მათე ღვინიანიძე; born December 10, 1986 in Tbilisi, Georgian SSR), FIFA spelling according to English transcription Mate Ghvinianidze, is a Georgian international footballer. The center-back is in the squad of the Ukrainian first division PFK Sevastopol since the beginning of 2011

Career

Association

Ghwinianidse began his career in the youth department of FC Dinamo Tbilisi. In January 2005 he moved to Lokomotiv Moscow.

In summer 2006, he contested the agency of Ralf Minge, then coach of the Georgian U-21 National Team, a four-week trial with German second division club TSV 1860 Munich. He then signed a contract until 2009, which was extended in November 2007 to 2011. By January 2011, he ran in 87 league games for 1860 and it scored a goal. In the DFB-Pokal, he was used eight times.

In early 2011, he joined the Ukrainian first division PFK Sevastopol, where he signed a contract until 2014.

National

Ghwinianidse debut on 7 October 2006 in the Georgian national team, as he stood in the match against the German selection in the grid. Since then, he completed nine games in the jersey of the Georgian Football Federation. In 2009, he explained because of differences with coach Héctor Cúper his retirement from the national team. In the summer of 2010 he was nominated again for the national team by new coach Temur Kezbaia, Ghwinianidse came but since then because of injuries not used.

Injuries

In the course of his career Ghwinianidse often fell out because of injuries. In October 2006, the outer band tore in his right ankle, he had to pause by four weeks. In December 2007, a meniscus injury was diagnosed in the left knee. After several operations he could not be re- used in 2008/ 09. On 22 February 2009, he had to be replaced after a new ligament in his right ankle in league play against MSV Duisburg and fell from ten weeks.

Achievements

When choosing to Georgia Player of the Year in 2006 Ghwinianidse was elected to seventh. Fans of the 1860 selected Ghwinianidse end of 2006 at best lion the preliminary round 2006/2007.
