Matt Foy

Matthew Foy ( born May 18, 1983 in Oakville, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since 2012 in the Berlin Polar Bears in the German Ice Hockey League contract.

Career

Matt Foy began his career as a hockey player with the Wexford Raiders, for which he was active in the 2000/01 season in the Ontario Junior Hockey League. Then he attended for a year, the Merrimack College, for his hockey team, he played in parallel in the Hockey East. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2002 in the sixth round as the 175th overall player of the Minnesota Wild. First, however, he ran in the 2002/03 season for the Ottawa 67 's in the Canadian top junior league Ontario Hockey League. From 2003 to 2007 the winger for the Minnesota Farm Team Houston Aeros in the American Hockey League was on the ice. For the Minnesota Wild, he came only occasionally during this period in the National Hockey League action. For the season 2007/ 08 he acquired a permanent place in the game in the NHL, but missed most of the season due to health reasons. On 14 July 2008, the right-handed shooter signed a contract as a free agent with the St. Louis Blues of the NHL, played through injury but in the 2008 /09 season only four games for their AHL farm team Peoria Rivermen. For the same reason he came in the 2009/10 season does not go beyond seven missions for the Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League, as he had completely sidelined in the following year with the Hockey. For the 2011/12 season he returned to the professional hockey and scored for the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL in a total of 73 games 56 scorer points, including 17 goals.

For the 2012/13 season Foy has been committed by the Polar Bear Berlin from the German Hockey League.
