Mattheus Pronk

Mattheus Pronk ( born March 27, 1947 in 't Zand, † 25 March 2001 Warmenhuizen ) was a Dutch racing cyclist and two-time world champion stayer.

Mattheus Pronk remained during his cycling career always Amateur and worked in his profession as a carpenter. In 1976 he was Dutch runner of the posts; the following year he won two league titles, as upright and in Derny race. In 1979, he was able to repeat the double victory.

1979 and 1981, Pronk World Champion Amateur Stayers, 1980, 1982 and 1983, respectively Vice World Champion. His pacemaker in these successes was Norbert Koch.

Mattheus Pronk was the father of racing driver Jos Pronk and Matthé.
