Matthew Sadler (chess player)

Matthew David Sadler ( born May 15, 1974 in Chatham (Kent) ) is an English grandmaster in chess.

Life

Matthew Sadler is the son of an English father and a French mother. His older brother Jerome is dedicated to the music.

Matthew deserved to 2000 his living as a professional chess player, then he worked for Hewlett -Packard.

Chess

Sadler first took part in British tournaments and several English championships. His first IM norm he scored at the 1989 International Youth Festival in Oakham, the second in the same year at the WFW tournament in London. Then the FIDE awarded him the title of International Master. In 1993, the Grand Master title.

In 1995 he won the British Championship in Swansea. In 1997, he won the tournament tradition of Hastings.

After his Bundesliga use in the 2003/2004 season, he has no -evaluated chess game more played until he took in the 2010/11 season in the third highest Dutch league, Class 2B, Amersfoort. In August 2011, Sadler won the International Open Barcelona Sants.

His current Elo rating is 2645 (as of March 2014 ) so that it is on the sixth place of the British rankings. Last in the top 50 in the world rankings, he was in July 2001., He had his best ever Elo rating of 2667 in January 1999.

National

Sadler represented England at the Chess Olympiads 1996 in Yerevan ( where he received a gold medal on the fourth board ) and 1998 in Elista. In his only participation in a European Team Championship 1997 in Pula he won the competition with the English team, and at the same time reached the second highest individual score on the fourth board. In the same year he also took part in the team's World Cup in Lucerne, where he reached the fourth place in the team and in the individual ranking on the third board achieved the second best result.

Chess club

In the British Four Nations Chess League Sadler played in the 1993/94 season and from 1997 to 1999 at the Invicta Knights Maidstone, with whom he 1993/94 won the competition since 2012, he plays in Guildford A & DC, with whom he 2013 British Team Champion been.
